It's more than a flag

As the weather gets nicer and Memorial Day just around the corner, we will start to see the American Flag on many homes throughout the country. As we proudly display our flags lets not forget that it is more than just a flag. Its a symbol of our Nation. Every part of our flag has a meaning. The stripes represent the 13 original Colonies and the stars represent the 50 states. Each color has a meaning of its own. White symbolizes purity and innocence. Red symbolizes hardiness and valor and blue represents vigilance, perseverance and justice. When the flag is folded, each fold has its own meaning. We use the flag on our homes, at our sporting events and display it at every military base around the country from 0800 to sunset. Let this blog be a reminder that we are to display our flags properly. We need to respect our flag and what it stands for. When you see a flag, remember that there are men and women fighting for it every day. want to know if you are following flag code properly? Visit USFlag.org.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
